Lost and Found (experiencing the loss of a relationship)

When a relationship changes or goes away, we are often confused about what we feel. The adjustment is a journey with many layers. Some are here. Others can be interjected.

Lost: The relationship that wasn't working.

Found: The perspective to remember what we loved about the person/relationship.

Lost: Companionship, friendship, stimulation, potential.

Found: Peace. Quiet. Alone.

Lost: The betrayals, the forgetfulness, the sense of being an afterthought, a low priority, a nuisance, an interruption.

Found: Fear. Of what? Of being alone. Of being wrong. Of not having done enough. Of hurting another. Of not mattering.

Lost: Dependency, neediness, desperation.

Found: Independence, calm, introspection, sadness.

Lost: Chaos.Being a target for someone's anger.

Found: Hope.

Whatever your situation, ask yourself why it is perfect for you right now.
